April 14, 2008: 70 Degrees by Wednesday...

...and I can't wait!  The Weekend was not a fun weekend of workouts.  The schedule called for a 70 mile ride followed by a short 3 mile run on Saturday and then a 13 mile run on Sunday.  After a flurry of e-mails between team-members we decided to flip the workouts and run in the snow instead of bike in the snow on Saturday morning.  So a few of us met on Saturday morning for one loop of the Ironman run course.  And yeah, it was snowing, or maybe sleeting.  However you want ot look at it, it was not a pleasant run.  Then, somehow I missed the end of the flurry of e-mails about riding on Sunday.  The one that said if the temperature is below 40, we were going to skip it.  So, I showed up again Sunday morning for a 70 mile ride, that included one loop of the Ironman bike course and a bit more added on to bring it up to 70 miles.  Three of us took off at 7am (the rest got the e-mail and were, I'm sure, home in their nice warm beds), made one loop of the Ironman course and called it quits.  I'm not quite sure how this works, but somehow the wind was in our face for almost the entire ride.

70 degrees on Wednesday, can't come soon enough!
