The following is a cautionary tale...do not let this happen to you.
I have joined the ranks of Pete Townsend and Stephen Stills. Count me among those who have lost their hearing to rock and roll. OK, so maybe not totally, but I HAVE lost the high frequencies and am at the lowest level of normal for the rest of the sound spectrum. For some reason, wearing tight closed ear headphones and hundreds of loud rock concerts have taken their toll. Who knew?
Yeah, I left my share of concerts with my ears still ringing. I sat practically on top of the Black Key's amps, and saw Jeff Beck in the third row.
I have been to a lot of concerts.
So I ordered a pair of musicians ear plugs and will actually start wearing them.
I tell you this, because it might still be time for you to learn from me and protect your ears at shows.
I can't imagine life without music. Tim put it beautifully. He says music is food and rock and roll, meat and potatoes.
I love my meat and taters. Rock on... but love your ears.
love,
Mama Gabby
