Feb. 1, 2008: I did it!

That's right I did it!  I set a goal at the start of January to do every single workout on the schedule in January.  No skipping "core" exercises because I hate them.  No "forgetting" to do my "strength training" because I have no upper-body strength and can barely lift the very lightest of the weights at the health club.  No blowing off the Friday workouts in favor of happy hour.  

The month is done and I officially made it.  

Now, I should point out I really haven't missed many workouts in the past - mostly out of fear that if I miss one workout months before the event, I'll completely fail on race-day.  I know that's an irrational fear, but it keeps me going.

Last week The New Yorker magazine took heat for a cover, depicting Barack and Michelle Obama as radical militant muslems, giving each other the " terrorist fist pump". The magazine says it was satire, drawing on the public's misconception of who the Obama's really are.
