Feb. 28, 2008: What's on Bruce Springsteen's iPod?
I was doing a little internet surfing today when I came across an article listing some of the songs on the Boss's iPod, and I was a bit surprised at some of the selections..
I figured he'd have pretty eclectic tastes, and to be truthful, a lot of the songs were not familiar to me.
He did include a bunch of songs from the Byrds and Roger McGuinn (nothing wrong with that), but I was a pleased to see he also includes selections from Michelle Shocked and Todd Snider. Admittedly, I'm not familiar with Ms. Shocked's song "One Piece at a Time," and am wondering if it's a cover of the Johnny Cash hit.
And who knew Rod Stewart covered Dylan's "Girl from the North Country"?
I was happy to see Bruce is into some of the old 1960's stuff..with the Chambers Brothers and Love (Alone Again, Or). Maybe the influence of his buddy Little Steven and his Underground Garage.
See the list of songs here along with an interview from USA Today.
July 31, 2008 The last time you were carded So the governor of Washington State, a 61 year old woman, just laughed it off when she forgot her ID and they wouldn't let her into a bar. Reminds me of the days when I used to get carded regularly..
