Jan. 25, 2008: Has anybody seen Pat's wife?
|
Seriously, has anybody seen my wife? She's a short, cute, brunette. Now, Laura and I knew going into this that training for an Ironman would mean spending a lot of time apart, but it got a bit crazy yesterday. The alarm went off at about 5:30 yesterday morning and I was off to the health club for a run. After an hour on the tradmill, I showered and came straight to work. Laura Called part-way through the day - some friends were going out to see a band, so she was going to join them. We had a late afternoon Studio M session with Dave Barnes that kept me at work until almost 6. Then it was off to Endurance House in Greenway Station for a swim seminar with the team. From there a bunch of us went straight to Point Cinemas for the movie Spirit of the Marathon. We had planned the movie outting for about a month now, which was part of the reason Laura decided to go out with friends, she knew I would be out at a movie that she had absolutely no interest in.
So, in the end, I was out until almost 10pm with my team and Laura got home at Midnight. I ended up not seeing my wife at all from about 5:30am until Midnight. Now I know some guys would think that alone is a good reason to train for an Ironman, but I actually like her and like I said - short, cute, brunette. I should probably add "understanding" to that list.
By the way, if you are interested in seeing the movie, it returns to Madison (I believe Point Cinemas again) on February 21. As they say (who are "they") "check your local listings." |
