Continuing with my 4 days of music, we come to day 2 of the Belleville American Music Festival.
I got there in mid afternoon, so I missed Queenie and the Blue Notes and Aaron Williams and The Hoodoo, but caught the second half of the Crashers, a great local band. Check them out sometime.
Next up was a young man from Kenosha named Joel Pingnitore, with his band LIvin’ Will. At first, I was not overly impressed, but as soon as he started playing intricate riffs with the guitar BEHIND him, I started paying closer attention. Then he did a couple of Hendrix songs, and I couldn’t get his “ Voo Doo Child” open out of my head. I can’t wait to catch this band again.
Blues man Larry McCray and the great Robben Ford filled out the bill, leading to the headliner, former Fleetwood Mac’s Jeremy Spencer. He was a soft spoken, dapper tiny man who kinda looked like a banker… but What a GREAT show! It took 2 days to figure out how to get this movie Tim took uploaded to You Tube, but finally we were able, so here’s a taste of Jeremy Spencer’s set.
