Mar. 4, 2008: Bye Bye Brett

As a Bears fan you'd think I'd be thrilled Brett is calling it a career.  Okay, I admit there is a part of me that's pretty happy.  However, the fun of the Green Bay/Chicago rivalry is at its best when there's really something to hate.  Back in the mid 80's, it was not that fun to watch the Packer/Bear games because they were really no contest.  Ho hum...Chicago wins again.

Then number 4 showed up.  Since then the he had  the Bears in his back pocket.  Even though last season was a disaster for the Bears, it was fun because they beat Green Bay.  With Brett gone, it won't be the same.

So in a twisted and sick way, I'll miss wishing he would lose.  I'll miss trying to make fun of him.  I'll miss wishing he would retire.

The rivalry was here long before Brett and it will continue long after him, but he's definitely made his mark.
