Last night was the maiden voyage on my new bike. Wow! what a difference! The bike is a Triathlon specific bike, I don't understand everything that makes it a Triathlon specific bike, but I'm told that one of the advantages is that because of the way I sit on a Tri bike, I use the muscles in my legs a little different and feel fresher when I get off the bike and start to run. Last night we rode (still indoors on a trainer) for an hour, immediately followed by a one hour run. I was not looking forward to this workout. My wife told me I better get used to it and I know she has a point, but still...
So, we finished the bike ride and hit the road for an hour run. I felt fine. No fatigue at all. So good, in fact that I didn't even think about feeling good or bad at all. I just ran. It was several hours after the run that I looked at my wife and said "Hey, I just ran a 2 hour brick and feel great!" I guess we'll find out in a few months just how great I feel after 15 hours.
July 31, 2008 The last time you were carded So the governor of Washington State, a 61 year old woman, just laughed it off when she forgot her ID and they wouldn't let her into a bar. Reminds me of the days when I used to get carded regularly..
