What a good time we had at the Madison Area Music Awards. Everyone looked so nice all dressed up and the performances were great. We are so lucky to have such a diverse scene in Madison. My only complaint is that there wasn't a jam band category, but maybe I'm a bit partial.
I got to meet the legendery Richard Davis, who had so much to do with creating Van Morrison's Astral Weeks album, in addition to blowing everyone's mind when he came out with Springsteen in March. He was charming and gracious and well deserved of his lifetime achievement award.
Our buddies Westside Andy, Robert J and Don ( from the WI Cheeseman, and the band Blue Beyond) all won awards.
I was the first presenter of the evening, so after I announced the winners, I was free to have fun!
This is a night that hip hop rubs shoulders with bluegrass and everyone respects one another. I even lost my cell phone and got a call on Monday from the lady who found it! All in all, a great night!
Oh yeah, I can't forget the hair and make-up before the show! Check this picture out, cuz you won't see me dressed up like this too often! ( with me in the photo is Don and Sarah from Blue Beyond, winners of Best new Band).

Too Much Fun
The Mamas were great again this year! Thanks to Rick Tvedt, the great bands, awesome fans, and of course Madison's best radio at 105.5 MMM. Good to see you Gabby!
