Congratulations to Margaret Jankowski of Monona! She got to go out to Colorado to be on the radio show etown (heard right here on Triple M) and meet the Bodeans. It wasn't just luck that got her there. She was being recognized for the non-profit organization she founded called The Sewing Machine Project.
What do you do with an old sewing machine when you get a new one? Margaret Jankowski hopes you won't throw it in the landfill, but instead will donate it to her organization, so she can pass it on to some one who really needs it. It all started when she saw a news report about a woman who lost a sewing machine in the South Asian tsunami a few years ago. She began collecting sewing machines and sending them to Sri Lanka. When Hurricane Katrina hit, she changed the focus to help people there. She's made several trips to New Orleans to deliver nearly 500 sewing machines!
Margaret was very excited to learn she was going to be recognized by etown, a show that airs right here on Triple M on Sunday nights. The show's goal is to inspire a diverse audience, through music and conversation, to create a socially responsible and environmentally sustainable world. Margaret was also thrilled to find out she got to go to Boulder, CO to get the award and see a live show featuring her old pals the Bodeans!

Due to technical difficulties, Margaret's interview didn't air on Sunday May 18th. We will now air it at 9:00 this Sunday (May 25). |

I'd have more sympathy for a lot of Americans who are upset about soaring food costs if it weren't for the fact that most of them can reduce what they spend on food by about 25% if they'd only do as my mother always told me "Shut your yap and...

be an anti-idle idol Okay, maybe we don't need to ban the drive-thru in Madison, but some environmental groups say we should probably think twice before letting our cars idle needlessly.
